VENETIAN LULLABY is a nod to parents taking babies for a car ride to get them to go to sleep—but this baby’s mama takes her on a gondola ride. The baby’s eyes get heavy while watching wondrous views of Venice from the canals. As the sleeping baby is taken back to her crib, readers may be surprised to find the gondolier ends up being the baby’s papa.
I have three picture books published, the most successful being Goodnight, Dragons (Disney*Hyperion, 2012, 2015 board book version). My verse novel, Serendipity & Me, was published by Viking (2013) and picked up by Scholastic for their book club. I’m a long-time member of SCBWI.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration,
Hear the water lap, lap.
Time to take a nap.
Drop the oar in deep, deep.
Time to go to sleep.
Wrap up in the blanket, baby.
Cuddle on my lap.
Rest your eyes while pigeons rise.
Time to take a nap.
Curl up like a fluffy kitten
dozing in the square.
Hi! I’d be interested to see the complete manuscript of VENETIAN LULLABY, plus one or two other picture book manuscripts you may have. Please sent it to submissions@stonesong.com, and put the title, #PBPARTY and my name in the subject line. Looking forward to reading more!
I’d love to take a look at this. Please send the full manuscript to http://QueryMe.Online/1067
Thanks!
