PBParty 17: One Big Catch
Title:
One Big Catch
Genre:
Board Book
Word Count:
60
Query:

When a fishing trip is plagued by lost bobbers, missed catches, and tangled fishing lines, a family works together to reel in a big surprise.

ONE BIG CATCH is a 60-word counting board book written for children ages 0-5. Similar to Fran Hawk’s Countdown to Fall (Sylvan Dell Publishing, 2013), this story counts up to ten and back down again. It tells a funny, relatable story about a family adventure gone horribly awry and echoes the fishy appeal of Swallow the Leader by Danna Smith (Clarion Books, 2016). ONE BIG CATCH will not only “hook” children and families who love fishing, it will appeal to parents and educators looking to teach children counting concepts in a fun and engaging way.

My debut picture book, THE PENCIL EATER, is under contract with MacLaren-Cochran Publishing and set for release this fall. I am a member of SCBWI and Julie Hedlund’s 12 X 12 Picture Book Challenge.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
